The Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services has developed a set of modules that school districts may use to create a district add-on endorsement program in Prekindergarten Disabilities. The Prekindergarten Disabilities Endorsement, as described in Rule 6A-4.01792, F.A.C., Specialization Requirements for the Prekindergarten Disabilities Endorsements, is required for teachers who teach either course number 7650030 or 7650130 as listed in the Florida Course Code Directory. Click here for additional information.
The district add-on endorsement is designed for teachers who currently hold certification in primary education, elementary education (K-6), early childhood education, or any exceptional student education Florida educator certificate.
There are three modules which cover development, assessment, and curriculum for young children. These modules may be used in lieu of taking college credit. Participants MUST complete ALL three modules, as college credit CANNOT be substituted for any of the three modules.
This is NOT intended to be a self-paced online course. These modules were designed to be offered through a facilitated model and may be accessed by district staff only.
