Regional
Personnel Development Partnerships are a collaborative effort between the
Florida Department of Education, Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student
Services and Florida's public universities to increase the state's capacity
to recruit, prepare, and retain highly qualified personnel who provide special
education and related services to children with disabilities.

The Florida Department of Education, Office of Student Financial Assistance
serves as a guarantor for the Federal Family Education Loan Program and the
administrator of Florida's scholarship and grant programs.

The Higher Education Reconciliation Act of 2005 authorizes up to $17,500 in student
loan forgiveness for certain highly qualified full-time elementary and secondary
school special education teachers whose primary responsibility is to provide
special education to children with disabilities.
