Florida's Personnel Development Supporting Exceptional Student Education

About Us

Florida's Personnel Development Supporting Exceptional Student Education website is administered through the ESE Personnel Development Support Project, Florida Center for Interactive Media located at Florida State University. The ESE Personnel Development Support Project is funded by the State of Florida, Department of Education, Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part B.

The Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services (BEESS) administers programs for students with disabilities. Additionally, the Bureau coordinates student services throughout the state and participates in multiple inter-agency efforts designed to strengthen the quality and variety of services available to students with special needs.

The purpose of the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Personnel Development Support Project is to provide leadership to nine Personnel Development Partnerships (PDPs), state universities and colleges, and community colleges to support highly qualified teachers and related service personnel working in exceptional student education.

This project also provides support in the area of ESE personnel development through the development of multimedia. Florida Center for Interactive Media (FCIM) offers a complete range of multimedia services. For more information, go to www.fcim.org.
